Seated Back Extension



Targets the lower back.

Sit on the seated back extension machine with your feet on the footrest. Your legs are slightly bent and your upper back makes contact with the upper pad. Your hips make contact with the back of the machine and your upper body is slanted forward. Push down on the handles or cross your arms. Arch your lower back. Recline up to the point when your upper body is greater than 90 degrees. Don’t round your back. Return to the starting position.
